Tricks of the trade

Follow our 8 top ironing hacks in order to cut your chore time in half! Doesn’t the saying go, fail to prepare then prepare to fail? We’re sure that this motto was written just for those who loath ironing!

Tip 1- if you’re tumble drying your clothes, don’t over load it! The common mistake of loading all your clothes in to dry increases your chances of having creased clothes. And creased clothes mean a little more elbow grease when it comes to the ironing!

Tip 2– take your clothes of out the tumble dryer as soon as they’re dry. This hack is so important! If you’re guilty of leaving your clothes in your dryer all day, and often wonder why your clothes are always creased, well… now you’ve got your answer.

Tip 3- When ironing, we suggest organising your clothes into groups according to the het settings they require. Start with the items that need the cooler heat setting first, that way you can gradually increase the heat of your iron as you work your way through your clothes.

Tip 4- When buying bed linen or clothes, be on the lookout for ones that are easy care/ non-iron. Honestly this is lifechanging.

Tip 5- If a clothes dryer is your best friend, then take some time to carefully organise your clothes so they hand nicely to avoid them creasing during the drying process.

Tip 6- Dry your shirts and dresses on clothes hangers on the washing line, that way any creases should ‘fall right out’. Minimising ironing time!

Tip 7– Iron clothes while they are slightly damp. This process reduced ironing time significantly.

Tip 8- if you have the space, set up a little ironing area and leave your ironing board up all the time, it will make is so much easier to do little chunks of your ironing every now and again.

And there we have it! Although very straight forward you’ll find that freshly ironed clothes can be achieved through almost 90% preparation!
